stone age farewell

my hyung ("older brother") the owner sold stone age. last night was the LAST night. it's going to be closed for a couple months as it's being renovated by the new owner. didn't really want to go there on a monday night cuz i knew i wouldn't be able to escape that place unscathed (ended up having some johnny black on the rocks). him and his wife had invited all of the most loyal customers that they liked.

too bad i had work today. i got home at 2:30am cuz lou and i weren't able to slip away politely until about 1:30am. man, ive been going to stone age for about 3 years. ah, the memories. it was a weird feeling.

we reminisced about the good old days. he laughed when he realized it's been about 4 years that he's known me and lou. time goes by quickly indeed. we started talking about life in wisconsin, which often happens at the level:orange stage of inebriation. he has big plans ahead. im impressed with his ambition, his drive. his right hand man joseph had some crazy stories to tell too. joseph graduated from my high school back in '95, 2 years ahead of me. he was a "FOB", fresh off the boat from korea. at 17 his parents could no longer support him so he began working in pool halls. he bounced around to different pool halls, cafes and local k-town drinking holes. his duties ranged from lackey up to even a manager. he made about 500,000 in 8 months. but instead of blowing it on a phat ride, he jumped into the stone age venture. and here he was, moving up onto bigger and better things.
